L'Ile de Beauté.

Take a stunningly rugged coastline dotted with fabulous beaches, add big mountains and timeless hilltop villages linked by challenging remote roads and sprinkle in attractive coastal cities. Next, pepper the island with historical sights, spike it with a taste-bud-teasing culinary scene and there you have it, Corsica, L'Ile de Beauté. This attractive destination is the perfect blend of challenging days in the saddle and just enough relaxation and beach time.


Day 1: Welcome to Bastia, France.

Arrive at Bastia airport and transfer to our nearby hotel. After building our bikes we’ll meet for our Welcome Reception and head out for a seaside dinner in the old port. 

Day 2: Cycle to St. Florent — 106 km or 70 km

This morning we head out on the spectacular Cap Corse peninsula that stands out from the rest of the island. Punctuated by Genoese watchtowers and charming coastal fishing villages this is an amazing opening ride. Tonight we sleep in St. Florent, a chic resort with a laid-back atmosphere that’s been dubbed a mini-St. Tropez. 4071 feet elevation gain.

Day 3: Cycle to Algajola — 96 km

Start the day with 40 kms of perfect cycling on the remote Désert des Agriates, a sun-scorched area of chalky mountains. Next up we venture inland on deserted roads on climbs that take us to charming hilltop villages, or one can opt for a shorter day and a relaxed lunch in L’Ille Rousse. Tonight we bed down in the little seaside town of Algagola. 4137 feet elevation gain.

Day 4: Explore Algajola — 49 km

Wake up in perfect Algajola, with its crescent beach and good restaurants and cafés. Today’s ride is just about perfect. We’ll have lunch at a great restaurant in a tiny restored town perched on a hill.  Some beach time is definitely recommended this afternoon. 3362 elevation gain. Longer rides available.

Day 5: Explore Algajola — 98 km

From sea level we’ll reach the high point of the trip, the 1099 meter Bocca di Battaglia. One route we’ll stop in the spectacular hill top town of Speloncato for coffee and a snack. Rather a day off the bike today? Hop the famous “beach train” to the picturesque port town of Calvi for lunch and some shopping. 4878 feet elevation gain.

Day 6: Cycle to Porto — 98 km

Head out early on this amazing ride that snakes along the coast. Stunning panoramas of the sea and sun-coloured meadows will satistfy your eyes while the hills will challenge your body. Tonight we bed down in Porto, a small village in a superb setting, backed by sheer pink cliffs tumbling into a turquoise sea. 3690 feet elevation gain.

Day 7: Cycle to Ajaccio — 80 km

Up is the only way out of Porto. Soon you’ll enter Les Calanques, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of geological formations with a spectacular road snaking through the formations and along a sheer cliff. Our destination is bustling seaside city of Ajaccio, made famous as the birthplace of Napoléon Bonaparte. 4186 feet elevation gain.

Day 8: Au Revoir.

This morning you’ll transfer to the Ajaccio airport for your flight home. Bon voyage!

Flat and rolling terrain and shorter riding days of approximately 50–70 km. Elevation gains of up to approximately 700 meters daily. Suitable for beginner and intermediate cyclists. Stronger riders looking for more kilometers can extend most days.


Rolling terrain with some bigger climbs and averaging approximately 70-100 km daily. Elevation gains of approximately 700 meters and above daily. Suitable for fit beginners, strong intermediate riders and above. A triple crank or compact crank is recommended. Stronger riders looking for more kilometers can extend most days.


Long riding days over 100 km daily and long climbs with steep sections can be expected. Caters to strong cyclists or riders in good physical condition seeking a mental and physical challenge. Elevation gains of approximately 1000 meters and above daily.
