It’s easy to see why Lance Armstrong made Girona his European training base. The ancient and beautiful Catalonian city is a paradise for cycling; within minutes of leaving town you’ll be spinning on a myriad of tranquil roads with sweet climbs and swooping descents through beech forests and flowered fields. Go east to the beaches of the Costa Brava, west to the foothills of the Pyrenees or through a rolling landscape dotted with little towns and perfect loops. On any given day choose from 40 km to 140 km rides, from mountain passes to flats and everything in between. Then come home to Girona, a small city with an interesting and culturally rich historic district and expansive parks, and great Catalonian restaurants and hip tapas bars including several world-renowned Michelin-starred establishments. Take a day off and zip up to the Salvadore Dali museum in Figures, hit the beach or go to Barcelona. On this trip you’ll unpack your bags once and ride your bike while we take care of all the details.
