Itinerary Tell a freind

The following is a general outline for the Spring Fling in Girona trip.
*Since this itinerary is flexible, this is a sample of what your trip could look like.

Cycleventures will meet you at the airport and transfer you and your bike to you Girona hotel. Help will be provided to assemble the bikes. Bike rentals are available, ask us!

Today’s ride is a perfect introduction to riding in Girona. Leave town and climb four kilometers towards the town of Sant Gregori. Just beyond lies a sweet rural road and another four kilometer climb to Les Planes d’Hostoles, a great spot for coffee and a snack. From there its downhill for awhile and then take a series of rural roads back to Girona. (758 meters of climbing)

Today we head out to the spectacular Costa Brava. Take a series of rolling roads east from Girona, then climb for ten kilometers to a awesome view of the Mediterranean and a great descent to the coast. Pedal past dreamy coves and stop for lunch in Tossa de Mar. Then we’ll climb eight kilometers and head back to Girona. (1243 meters of climbing)

This dreamy ride starts with a mild ten kilometer climb straight out of town to a beautiful 360 degree view where you can see the snowy Pyrenees, France, the Mediterranean, Girona and neighbouring Figueres in the distance. Then it’s a mind-boggling roll and pedal through fields and towns, up and down and back to Girona. In one of his books, Lance wrote about riding this loop with his ex, Sherryl Crow.

Day trip options: hop the train and go to the Salvador Dali Museum in his hometown of Figueres or zip down to Barcelona for a day of sightseeing and shopping. Or, hit the beach! Pedal in the morning, massage in the afternoon? Choices!

Today’s epic twenty-five kilometer climb is a renowned training ride for the pros. The first ten kilometers is a comfortable 2% grade, and the rest 4%. From the top you can elect to turn around and retrace your steps, or continue and add another 40 km to your day. Big!

Today’s ride is all-time. We’ll head straight west out of Girona towards the impressive Pyrenees and the Olot valley. Expect a day of great riding: short and steep power climbs, long flats, gradual, meandering climbs and fast sweeping descents.

We arrange your transportation to the airport in time for your flight.
